A 26-year-old man was arrested in Kagiso on Tuesday for allegedly shooting and wounding a man the previous Saturday.
Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson said the police received a complaint about a shooting in the Batswana section in central Kagiso.
At the scene the complainant’s sister told the police what had happened.
She said the suspect arrived at their home and had an argument with her brother.
“During the argument the suspect drew a firearm and fired a shot at her brother. The complainant and his younger brother ran for cover but the complainant was shot in the upper body,” said Sibiya.
“The suspect thereafter fled the scene and the complainant was rushed to hospital in a serious condition.”
The police searched for and eventually apprehended and detained the suspect at the Kagiso Police Station.
He will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon facing a charge of attempted murder.
