Childsplay with the police

Krugersdorp Police gives back to the community.

Local police officers visited a crèche in Munsieville to kick off the new year on a generous note, at the same time surprising the children.

A group of police officers from the Krugersdorp Cluster decided to collect toys for children of the community instead of observing the same old tradition of buying each other Christmas gifts.

They visited the Ithembalabantwana crèche in January to drop off the late Christmas gifts.

“Every year we buy each other gifts, but last year Lieutenant Colonel Masangu came up with the idea rather to buy gifts for the community,” said Constable Thepiso Mashale, spokesperson of the Krugersdorp Police.

The choice was obvious for them as they wanted to see the smiles on the children’s faces.

Mashale scouted the town to identify a suitable school and decided on the Ithembalabantwana crèche in Munsieville.

Among the gifts were cars, dolls, teddy bears and goodies for the babies.

“We look forward to working hand in hand with the community on a regular basis,” concludes Mashale.
