A case of murder was opened after a body was found by a passerby in Magaliesburg yesterday, 9 February.
Hitler Ngwenya, a police spokesperson said when police arrived on the scene, they found what they believe to be that of human remains wrapped inside a blue plastic bag at a plot in Koesterfontein, Magaliesburg.
The body was taken to the Roodepoort Mortuary for further investigations and a case of murder will be investigated by the Magaliesburg Police Station.
Any information pertaining to the age and sex is currently still unknown.
Ngwenya said the police urges the community to come forward with any information which will assist them in their investigations.
