Magaliesburg to enchant again

This is what the newly establishde Magaliesburg Business Forum hope to achieve.

The magic of Magaliesburg has not been lost.

This was the projected message at a recent Magaliesburg Business Forum (MBF) breakfast meeting held at Valley Lodge & Spa on the banks of the Magalies River.

Chairperson Michael Holenstein who runs a successful country hotel said the newly established MBF was founded as a way to get the almost 70 businesses in the area to work together in making Magaliesburg a place which visitors would want to visit again.

“It used to be the place where people from over the province would go to unwind after a long and tiring work week. There used to be so many activities for people to do and that is a world that we would want to awaken again.”

He said being in business for over 20 years meant that there was always a need for other businesses to take hands in ensuring that their area still remain a place where business would continue to thrive for the Burg’s visitors and residents.

“There is so much violent protests taking place because of unemployment among our people and that is something that we need to change. We need to employ them and make them part of us.”

Holenstein further said that it will also encourage the people to buy locally produced products, which in the long run will be an advantage to the community as businesses will be able to grow which can lead to more people being employed.

“There will just be a better working environment which in turn would help everyone to work together by uplifting the community.”

He admitted that Magaliesburg has lost its luster over the years, but working together they as business owners will be able to make the area prosper again.

This they will try to do in conjunction with the Magaliesburg Development Initiative, helping them to clean up the area from any rubbish.

“It is a work in progress; if we give our part then the others will follow.”
