The body that was found by a passerby in a blue plastic bag in Magaliesburg on Monday belongs to that of a woman, the Roodepoort Mortuary confirmed.
Pathologists are still busy with the post mortem, but so far investigations indicates that she must have been assaulted and strangled.
Yesterday, 10 February, Hitler Ngwenya, a police spokesperson said when police arrived on the scene, they found what they believe to be that of human remains wrapped inside a bag at a plot in Koesterfontein, Magaliesburg.
A case of murder was opened by the Magaliesburg Police.
Ngwenya said the police urges the community to come forward with any information which will assist them in their investigations.
