Learner bumps and mother drives away

A mother jumps behind the steering wheel of her car after her son, who was driving, scratched a brand new Audi A5 in a Krugersdorp parking lot.

A reward is being offered to anyone who witnessed a bump-and-run accident at the Anthos Shopping Center parking lot on 8 February.

Priscilla Zeman was going about her normal Sunday shopping duties at the center when she made a shocking discovery after returning to her vehicle.

As she climbed into her vehicle to go home, she was stopped by a stranger who pointed out damage to her vehicle.

“Excuse me mam, but there is something hanging from your car,” said the stranger.

The something turned out to be an expensive piece of trimming which was scratched off caused by an underage driver after he bumped into Zeman’s car with his mother’s car.

An eyewitnesses approached Zeman, who told her that he saw a young boy reversing into her Audi A5 and scratching the vehicle.

After noticing what he had done, the boy was instructed by his mother who sat in the passenger seat, to swap places.

The mother then quickly got behind the steering wheel and quickly drove off.

Zeman is now stuck with approximately R40 000 worth of damage.

The eyewitness told Zeman that the person responsible for the damaged caused to her vehicle was driving a green Golf at the time of the incident.
