Taste in music led to man’s death

They were listening to music and having a few drinks when the suspect ordered the deceased to play something different.

A 34-year-old is expected to make a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court today 16 February after being arrested for murder at his workplace on Friday.

Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson said the crime happened in December last year when the suspect visited a friend at his place in Kagiso where they listened to music and enjoyed drinks together.

While they were having their drinks and enjoying the music, the suspect allegedly then ordered the deceased to play something different.

“An argument ensued between them and one of their other friends intervened and managed to calm them down before he left,” said Sibiya.

“Then a few moments later the fight resumed and the friend who calmed the situation then heard the deceased screaming for help and calling out his name.”

The friend then noticed the suspect leaving the deceased’s shack with a sharp object in his hand where after he rushed to his shack where he found him on the floor bleeding profusely from stab wounds to the upper body.

“He was rushed to the hospital, but died later on arrival,” Sibiya said.

The suspect went into hiding since then and also left his residential address. Following up after a tip-off from the community the Kagiso police detectives managed to arrest him at his usual workplace in Luipaardsvlei.
