Suspects caught with stolen goods

50 pairs of shoes and 126 cellphones were confiscated by Magaliesburg Police.

The Magaliesburg Police arrested eight suspects for being in possession of suspected stolen property.

They were pulled over on the R509 Koster Road at around 3am on 12 February.

Three police officials, Sergeant Minnies, Constable Makhatshu and Constable Mosia were conducting a routine patrol when they stopped a red BMW and a silver Honda. With consent they searched both cars.

“They found 50 pairs of new running shoes and 126 new cellphones still in their boxes,” said police spokesperson Constable Rebecca Phiti.

Phiti stated that the suspects with ages ranging between 23 and 61 are residents of Rosettenville and Yeoville in Johannesburg.

Lieutenant Colonel Morebodi along with Vispol Captain Van Rooyen are proud of the results of the officers’ hard work.

The eight suspects already appeared in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.
