Police boasts with 331 arrests

The SAPS' Krugersdorp Cluster has arrested a total of 331 people last week alone.

The SAPS’ Krugersdorp Cluster is chuffed after yet another successful week of arrests.

During the past week alone a total of 331 arrests were made for a number of serious offences such as murder, housebreaking, armed robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm, dealing in drugs, assaults, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of gold bearing material, among others.

Appel Ernst, a police spokesperson, said these also include one arrest for attempted murder, 51 for assault, 16 each for theft and possession of drugs and dagga. A total of 20 arrests were also executed for driving under the influence of liquor.

Major General Mateisi, the Cluster Commander, assured the residents in Krugersdorp that police officers will ensure their safety in all circumstances.
