Clothing shop robbed second time this year

A local clothing outlet was targeted by robbers for the second time.

Krugersdorp Police are on alert after a second robbery at Pep Stores in Lewisham last week.

A police sector vehicle received a call-out on 21 February to investigate the incident at the store.

Six suspects were looting the store when they were disturbed and made a run for it.

The suspects fled to their vehicle and took off. Police caught up with them and gave chase.

The suspects then stopped at a nearby veld where they abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

They dropped a bag full of cellphones during the chase.

“Police recovered the vehicle they used as a get-away car,” states Constable Tshepiso Mashale, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police, as well as the bag with cellphones, which will be handed in at the evidence department.
