Countdown to the egg-citement of Easter
The New Life Church is egg-cited for its 2015 Egg Dash.
First a helicopter, then a fire truck, who knows what the Real Life Church in Viljoen Street has up its sleeves next for Easter this year?
Pastor Noel Wood and his wife Zelda, sit every year and plot how they can spoil and surprise the community of Krugersdorp.
They kicked off their infamous Easter Egg Dash with a helicopter dropping 10 000 Easter eggs on Monument Primary School’s field.
A group of 800 children, ran egg-staticly up and down the field to collect as many eggs as possible while munching on a few more.
The second year, in 2014, a firetruck delivered 20 000 eggs to the egg-citing egg-hunters of Krugersdorp. The children also enjoyed entertainment from their favourite Disney characters who helped hand out the chocolate treats.
With less that a month to go, Real Life Church members, better known as egg-sperts, work around the clock to collect as many eggs as possible for their surprise egg-dash for 2015.
The News checked in at the church where Jèan Canha showed us the progress of their collection on the church’s special egg meter.
The Real Life Church managed to double their amount of eggs in only two years and hope to do so again. They currently are standing on 10 000 eggs.
Forget about your traditional Easter egg hunts and be sure not to miss out on the egg-stravaganza at Monument Primary School on 28 March from 10am.
Who knows what surprise the Krugersdorp egg hunters are in for this year.
