Kagiso police arrested a 16-year-old girl from Tshepisong on Wednesday 25 February for arson.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson said the complainant allegedly locked up her shack before she went to her boyfriend’s place where she spent the night.
When she returned the following day she found her shack burnt to the ground where after she questioned her landlord about it.
Sibiya said the landlord told the complainant that she noticed a girl and another person leaving the property after the shack was set alight.
“The complainant then went to the suspect’s place to question her about it,” he said.
She then went to the police station to open a case.
Sibiya said they arrested the suspect and a case docket of arson was registered at Kagiso Police Station. The teenager was later transferred to a youth rehabilitation center.
