Demoting drugs in drug hub

Saving the West Rand from drugs, one lost and lonely soul at a time.

The Turn to Eternal Life Bible Ministry group recently visited the notorious drug hub of Krugersdorp to create awareness about drug abuse and prostitution.

Various before and after photos of the effects that different drugs have on the body along with information decorated the inside of the cazibo that was set up in the parking lot of Hyper Parts in Luipaard Street.

Edward van Schalkwyk along with his trainee, Wiekus Prinsloo approached the general public in the area to talk about different drugs, what the drugs look like and how they are used, along with the side effects of abuse.

The aim of the day was also to raise funds for the training centre of drug survivors which they are planning to open in Magaliesburg.

They wish to open a free rehabilitation service where they are renting a farm.

After recovering, the drug survivors will then work on the farm where they can either be trained as Biblical councilors or as farm managers. The Turn to Eternal Life Bible Ministry group is a registered non government organisation and is also looking forward to kick off their ever so popular Soape (Street Outreach And Prostitution Evangelism) operation with the help of the police.

A petition against drug abuse was also signed on the day which Van Schalkwyk is planning to hand over to the SAPS’ West Rand Cluster Commander General Mateise.

“We work with love for the lost and lonely,” says Van Schalkwyk.

The community of Krugersdorp are invited to take hands and help them fight the war of drugs in the West Rand.
