A young couple with four children from Krugersdorp West fear for their lives after their landlord’s ex-husband trespassed and broke into their property.
Lilian Herbs and her boyfriend Kobie Staalkopber were enjoying a Sunday lunch at Herbs’ parents when they received a call letting them know that someone has broken into their garage at their home on Luipaard Street.
Within minutes the couple arrived home to find their landlord’s ex-husband there.
When the couple asked him what he was doing in their home he stated that he can come and go as he pleases.
The three children, one a baby, witnessed how their father, Kobie Staalkopber was shoved around by the trespasser.
It is believed that the property had been handed over to the current landlord after a messy divorce settlement.

“He thinks that he can walk over everyone in this town,” said Herbs.
The family was intimidated by the trespasser, with a gun tucked into his shirt, while his alleged new girlfriend and daughter sat in the car waiting, laughing as the couple’s children feared for their lives.
Herbs says since the incident happened, her children has been terrified and now refuses to stay home alone, as they anticipate the return of the intimidating trespasser.
The News phoned the trespasser to find out why he had entered the property and taken various goods from the house.
At first he denied being at the house at the time of the incident.
The trespasser, who’s identity is known by the family, told the News that it is stolen property which had been stored at the house that he confiscated.
Furthermore he denied having a gun on him, as he claims it was confiscated from him during the divorce, confirming that he indeed was at the house.
A case of damage to property has been opened at the police station by the current landlord, along with a case of trespassing has been opened by the tenants.
