A man was busy buying liquor from a shebeen in Tarlton when he was attacked and stabbed from behind.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson said the 25-year-old was later certified dead on the scene.
He sustained multiple stab wounds to the back.
Sibiya said the 35-year-old suspect fled the scene on foot and is still at large.
“The motive for the killing is unknown and Tarlton Police are appealing to members of the community to assist with information about the suspect’s whereabouts.”
