Follow-up: Key West shooting

Five vehicles were damaged during Key West shoot-out on 19 March.

Suspects in a black VW Polo fled the scene of a shoot-out at Key West shopping centre.

The incident took place at Entrance 4, where Wimpy is located.

It is alleged that three unknown males robbed a security guard of a bank inside the mall at 10.45am.

They managed to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

“The security guard in return fired at the suspects before they fled the scene”, commented Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, Constable Tshepiso Mashale.

Mashale confirmed that no-one was injured during the shooting.

“Five vehicles were shot at and damaged.”

A case of armed robbery is being investigated by the Krugersdorp detective unit.
