Justice served for house robber

Illegal Mozambican national sentenced to 49 years' imprisonment in the Kagiso Magistrates' Court.

A West Rand habitual offender was sentenced to 49 years’ imprisonment in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court late in February.

The sentence followed the arrest of the 33-year-old Mozambican national by Warrant Officer Reinhardt Holder.

Holder was investigating the case of Anton Bila America who was linked to multiple house break-ins and robberies across the West Rand.

“He has been warned before, and continued to commit similar offences,” commented Constable Tshepiso Mashale, spokesperson of the Krugersdorp Police Station.

Police picked up on America’s crime tracks from 2002 when he started targeting houses in Krugersdorp and later as far as Randfontein.

The convicted criminal is also due to appear in the Vereeniging Magistrates’ Court as he has been linked to crimes in that area.

A total of 15 cases has been opened against America at the Vereeniging Police Station.

The Mozambican national has been sentenced as an illegal immigrant who will be deported back to his country of origin after his sentence has been served.
