Build a better community: report child neglect
The Magaliesburg Social Crime Prevention unit wants to help to ensure children from the area are not neglected in the community.
Magaliesburg police wants to help after it became evident that in a period of just two months, five children were removed to places of safety.
Constable Rebecca Phithi, prevention coordinator for the Magaliesburg Social Crime Prevention said she is trying her best to ensure children from the area are not neglected in the community.
She said the children that they receive are usually between the ages of one and 14.
“We as the community and the police will make sure that these kids get comforted and that they are protected from any harm by removing them from any danger.”
Phithi further said parents that are vulnerable also are going to be assisted by placing them in different places of safety.
“The community is urged to start reporting people who are vulnerable and who really are looking for help. We must start working together to assist these people with their different problems.”
She concluded saying the community must start reporting domestic violence so that they can assist.
