BREAKING NEWS: Man shot twice in alleged hijacking incident
Details indicate a man is in a critical condition in hospital following a hijacking in Silverfields this evening.
A man is fighting for his life after being shot twice in the stomach following an alleged hijacking in Garrick Street, Silverfields.
According to information two men approached the 26-year-old Manie Lemmer just after 7pm this evening 10 April, where they shot him and fled the scene with his silver Opel Astra sports car with all of his belongings still inside.
The vehicle has apparently been found abandoned in Kagiso.
Lemmer is currently receiving medical treatment at the Helen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg to remove the bullets from his stomach.
This is the second crime related incident in less than a month. On 16 March Thomas Cope, 67, was killed with a crowbar when seven men entered his home in Chelsea Avenue, a mere kilometre from where the latest incident has taken place.
Although details are still sketchy at this point of time, the News will keep readers up to date with any new information as it become available.
