Monte’s bird garden unveils new mascots

If you would like to meet the friendly new mascots come down to the Montecasino Bird Gardens on the first and last weekend every month and on Public Holidays.

The Montecasino Bird Gardens is celebrating its 14th birthday this coming Freedom Day (27 April), with the launch of four brightly-coloured and larger than life mascots – a Southern Ground Hornbill, a Chameleon and a Brown Lemur – who join Tango the Toucan in making animal encounters even more memorable at the Bird Gardens.

The Montecasino Bird Gardens has been a sanctuary to over 2000 birds, reptiles, mammals and plants since it opened in 2001.

“This in itself is a reason to celebrate and it’s a milestone we chose to commemorate with three new fun and friendly mascots,” says Deidre Jameson, Montecasino Property Manager.

“Our new mascots have been designed to capture the essence of the Bird Gardens, giving a face to entertainment and environmental education for adults and children alike.”
