Almost 200 suspects arrested

The Krugersdorp Cluster has arrested suspects for a variety of crimes over the week.

Krugersdorp police had their hands full this past week after arresting a total of 191 suspects.

Captain Appel Ernst, a police spokesperson said six house robbery suspects have been arrested of which four suspects have being sought by the police for a house robbery that took place in December last year.

The other two suspects were linked to a house robbery in Kagiso.

Ernst said a further five suspects were arrested respectively in Hekpoort and Magaliesburg for possession of unlicensed firearms when police officers performed stop and search operations.

The other arrests were for crimes such as common robbery, malicious damage to property, drunken driving, possession of stolen property and domestic violence.

Major General Anna Mateisi, the Cluster Commander for Krugersdorp said she assures residents that the arrested suspects will be brought to the book for crimes committed in the area.
