[UPDATE] Broom accident survivor still critical

One of the survivors of the Robert Broom Drive accident is not allowed to receive a blood transfusion because her religion prohibits her.

The brother of the deceased Dr Jennifer Tanksi speaks out following the serious accident on Robert Broom Drive that claimed the life of his sister.

Tanski died after being involved in a head on collision this past weekend. Her Toyota Tazz collided with a SUV. Two people were seriously injured with one being airlifted to hospital.

“No one seems to know the exact cause of the accident,” says Mike Tanski, brother of the deceased.

Dr Tanski, a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, was living at the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society in Rangeview for the past two years where she served as doctor and later a minister.

Mike believes that his sister and her passenger were on their way back from a morning of evangelising when the accident occurred.

A witness claims that there was a whole convoy of Jehovah’s Witnesses behind Dr Tanski at the time of the accident who saw as she crashed into oncoming traffic.

She sadly passed away from severe head injuries and a broken neck due to the impact of the accident.

“Medical personnel constantly practiced CPR on her on the way to the hospital where she later passed away,” tells Mike.

It is believed that the passenger who was with Tanski in the car at the time of the accident is still in a critical condition in the Life Flora Hospital after she was airlifted from the accident scene.

After losing a substantial amount of blood she is currently still critical as her religion prohibits her from receiving a lifesaving blood transfusion.

Other injuries the passenger suffered is a broken pelvis and compound fractures to both the femur bones, both knees broken and a broken shin.

The News is in the dark about the recovery of the third person who was in the SUV at the time of the accident.

Tanski was greatly known by the Jehovah’s Witness community and will be laid to rest on Thursday night at the Watch Tower.

“I am not just saying this as a family member but my sister was an extremely kind person who devoted her life to the service of the people,” concludes Mike.
