Mr and Miss Maragon crowned
A night of glitz, glamour and Mr South Africa at Maragon.
Maragon (Avianto and Ruimsig) pupils were too cool for school at the magical crowning of Mr and Miss Maragon.
The theme of the night was Rock the School where judges such as Armand du Plessis (Mr South Africa 2014) and Unaiza Moideen were captivated with the sparkling personalities of the pupils on the ramp.
“The evening was sensational from beginning to end. The opening scene could have given Glee a run for its money,” comments Maragon’s marketing manager Belinda Espag.
The title of Miss Pearl went to Kyla Molatana with Mr Pearl on her side, Christopher Changfoot.
“Both Mr and Miss Pearl said they enjoyed the experience and that it was an opportunity for them to make friends, and a great deal of fun.”
The contestants emphasised that it was not about winning; but rather about making new friends and realising that “you only live once”.
Mr SA also had a few words on his heart about the glamorous evening.
“I have always been very proud to be from the West Rand; and something that has always stood out is how supportive this community has been. This was seen once again during last week, while judging Mr and Miss Maragon. Maragon stands as a beacon of leadership, sports, cultural and cutting edge educational philosophies has hosted an incredible event on Thursday 23 April, that was most certainly in a league of its own and one of the best I have ever attended! It has been an honour to have supported this school and I salute them on how they are impacting the future,” said Armand.
Other winners of the night was Brinley Bontekoning, who was crowned as Miss Photogenic, and Yassir Kale, who was crowned Mr Personality.
“A special mention goes to all the teachers who were involved in making the evening such a success. Thank you for all your hard work and effort, it is always much appreciated,” concludes Espag.
