[VIDEO] Unsung superheroes of the night
VIDEO: See the superheroes fight crime in Krugersdorp while you are sound asleep in bed.
Ordinary members of the community walk among us as superheroes in disguise because by nightfall they trade their warm pajamas and fluffy slippers for reflector jackets and patrol vehicles.
Contrary to popular belief there are still a handful of police and Community Policing Forum (CPF) members who fight hard against the illegal activities in Krugersdorp.
Late one Friday night brave members of CPF Sector 4 and 9 along with detectives from the Krugersdorp Police and the K9 Unit braved the cold and dark to step into the wild side of town.

What happens in Sivewright Street, stays in Sivewright Street, right? Wrong, since many of the foreign nationals in that street supply drugs to their pushers who sell it closer to the homes of their clients.
However, our superheroes try with all their might to get to the root of the problem in the infamous Sivewright and Luipaard Streets.
Entering the red house at a corner in Luipaard Street, the members are greeted by scantily clad sex slaves. These zombies survive on the illegal substances found on nearly every street corner of our town.
The idea behind constantly raiding these streets is to get across the message, “You are not welcome here”.
For too long these sex workers and drug dealers have been taking over the streets and poisoning the community, and with more visibility and raids the aim is to drive them out slowly but surely.
One thing is certain – after raiding a particular house in Luipaard Street again, the sex and drug trade is back in full swing the moment the dust has settled.

The house that reeked of body fluids was littered with used condoms, suggesting that the house is yet another brothel in Krugersdorp.
The sniffer dogs provided by a private security company helped the members find all the hidden accessories that go hand in hand with the illegal drug trade. Empty plastic bags by the dozens and a scale were discovered along with the used plastic bags drugs usually are sold in.

Crack pipes or ‘lollies’ with straws, which are used to consume the various drugs, were hidden among rubbish and more used condoms.
The undercover police thanked the brave CPF members for their ongoing motivation to help combat crime and prevent the one bad apple from destroying the whole basket that is Krugersdorp.
