Five suspects who allegedly fled with an unknown amount of cigarettes in Pretoria Street in Krugersdorp are still sought by the police.
Constable Tshepiso Mashale, a police spokesperson said it is alleged that the driver of a cigarette truck was busy delivering the cigarettes on Tuesday 2 June at a well-known hypermarket in town when an unknown man driving a blue BMW X5 pointed a firearm at him.
“The complaint managed to run away where he went to call for help, but after returning he noticed that cigarettes was missing from the vehicle.”
Mashale said it is still unknown what the value of the missing cigarettes is.
“Allegedly there were four other suspects inside the BMW.”
The police are appealing to the community to help them with any information to this crime incident by phoning 011 951 1152.
