Quick response by members of the Krugersdorp Police resulted in the arrest of two suspects in the early hours of Thursday morning 4 June.
It is alleged that two burglars had broken a window to gain entry to a local business where they stole two television sets.
“Fortunately a neighbour heard the noises and immediately called the police, giving a description of the suspects and the vehicle used in the crime,” Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police said.
Based on the good description of the wanted suspects, police managed to spot their vehicle within minutes and gave chase.
Police arrested the two and recovered the stolen property in the vehicle.
The two suspects were detained at Krugersdorp Police Station facing charges of business burglary.
“Following a job well done by the members, management would like to thank the neighbour who was observant enough to give the police full details about the crime. The cluster commander Major General Mateisi encourages the good partnership between the police and the community in fighting crime,” Mashale concluded.
