Although no drugs were found at a local drug ‘drive-through‘ hot spot, questionable occupants were found in the old Luipaardsvlei Hotel.

Not so long ago, these premises were known for its busy drug trade, housing dealers in every room ready to poison the public.
Following an article published on the News’ website on 8 May, members of the Sector 9 Community Policing Forum (CPF) called in the big guns to assist them in investigating the allegations.
An army of CPF members along with local police and a security company’s K9 unit entered the premises and searched every corner, but could not find anything incriminating.
Dagga plants and other accessories for drug abuse were sniffed out by the beautiful dogs Frodo and Shadow, members of K9 MAD.
Among the occupants was a Nigerian national accused of selling drugs.
Sadly nothing was found on the accused who was sitting casually on the street corner at the building drinking beer with friends minutes before the CPF arrived.
In the back rooms, which also were occupied, investigators recognised one of the occupants as a one of the big drug dealers in Krugersdorp.
This dealer, whose name is known to the News, had run an illicit drug lab on Market Street where compounds were concocted, as it was reported on 12 December 2014. He left a trail of evidence such as his vehicle and ID book behind when he fled.
A relative of the drug dealer pleaded with the News, saying he had turned a new leaf and was finished with dealing drugs. However, police questioned the dealer about the incident.
During the investigation police received another tip-off about another drug lab blocks away, which might have been an attempt to distract and send them in the wrong direction.
However little, the evidence found at this hot spot indicated that there is a drug trade in the area.
