Local girl starts Youth Sector

The Youth of Krugersdorp is invited to help build up the community.

In the spirit of Youth Day (16 June), a local high school pupil who decided to form a Youth Sector group deserves praise.

After she matriculates from Hoërskool Noordheuwel later this year, Michelle Starke, who is involved in the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum (CPF) and who is a qualified first-aid responder will work part-time as a basic ambulance assistant and join the police full time.

It is not hard to see why it was this young crime fighter’s idea to start the Youth Sector for the community of Krugersdorp.

Her aim is to get the youth involved in various projects, which will help build up the community as well as the next generation of crime fighters.

As the Youth Sector is still in its initial stages, a WhatsApp group has been started to get the youth talking.

The group will host their first Youth Sector meeting later this week where they will have the opportunity to meet and greet.

“It is a project for the youth where we can stand together and assist the community by doing various projects focused on uplifting the elderly, the less fortune and others in need by advertising and fundraising.

“We would like to assist the local animal shelters as well. Other projects we have in mind is a cancer run and collecting food for those in need. We aim to provide a service to the community in general by raising funds,” Michelle said.

Join Michelle and her sidekicks for the first Youth Sector meeting on 19 June at the Key West Milky Lane from 7pm to 9pm.

For more information or to join the Youth Sector group, send a WhatsApp to Michelle Starke on 073 625 8725.
