Spoil your dad this Father’s Day

Bring dad and the whole family to the Father's Day Fair at the Sterkfontein Heritage Lodge on 21 June.

Fathers are sometimes the strict, beer-drinking, sport-crazy and annoying parent, but they need your help in ensuring his mischievous energy does not go unaccounted for.

The Sterkfontein Heritage Lodge in Rant-en-Dal is hosting a Father’s Day Fair on Father’s Day 21 June to give loved ones the opportunity to treat their fathers or spouses to a fun-filled outing they won’t easily forget.

If your idea of a Father’s Day gift is the same as last year’s or the year before, forget about it – yet another tie, pair of socks or a pack of underwear is probably not going to be cheering him up this year.

Instead let him choose his own gift or surprise him with an adrenalin rush.

Jean-Jo Dorval and Schalk Enslin, new owners of the lodge said this would be the first of many similar markets they have in mind for the Krugersdorp community.

“This is our way of providing entertainment to fellow Krugersdorpers. We want to bring back social life to all the cultures we have in town.”

At the Father’s Day Fair there will be lots of entertainment. Even the children will have a jumping castle, face painting and pony rides.

Various stalls will be set up with food such as pancakes, doughnuts, potjiekos, hamburgers, hotdogs and Father’s Day gifts while live entertainment will be provided by local artist Gibbon.

The more adventurous fathers also have the opportunity to go bungee jumping.

As part of their initiative in giving back to the community, people can bring animal food or anything animal-related. In turn it will be donated to Friends of Rescued Animals (Fora).

The fair will start at 10am until late.

Anyone wanting to set up a stall for the day can contact Catherine Scholtz on 073 057 9202.
