Cookware and money stolen

An ex-boyfriend and his accomplices stole from a former love interest after gaining entrance to her property.

Pots and cash.

This is what an ex-boyfriend and seven accomplices took from a former love interest after gaining entrance to her shack in Tshepisong on Saturday 13 June.

Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson said the complainant was asleep in her shack with her current boyfriend when she heard a knocking on the door.

She recognised the voice as that of her former boyfriend who ordered her to open up as he wanted to discuss their relationship.

“While she was talking to the complainant, his seven accomplices suddenly entered. One of the suspects manhandled and pointed a firearm at her before pushing her outside the shack.”

Sibiya said the complainant reported the matter to the police as well as theft of her pots and an undisclosed amount of cash.

“Police immediately investigated and managed to arrest five of the seven suspects. Two more are still on the run and police investigations and searches are ongoing.”

The suspects have made a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court on Monday for alleged house robbery.
