Dog poisoning alert in Krugersdorp

Two Step poison was found in viennas at three different houses in one street earlier this week.

Sector 4’s Community Policing Forum (CPF) is sending out an urgent warning following dog poisonings over the past couple of days.

On 15 June, the CPF members were called out to a house in Wentworth Park just after midnight. A security company had called for backup after a client reported their dog had been poisoned.

Patrollers from this sector responded to the incident in Timber Street to help search for poison that could have been left at other properties in the street.

With the help of Thompsons Security and EPR, the CPF searched the street and discovered poison on two other properties. The poison known on the streets as Two Step was hidden inside hot dog viennas.

Three houses in the street had been targeted, with the dogs at one of them already poisoned. It is believed a silver vehicle without number plates had been spotted in the area at the time and later was located in Sivewright Street.

CPF along with other stakeholders searched the bushes near the railway where they believe the suspects had disappeared into.

They searched the area until 2am before leaving to assist at an accident scene in Roodepoort.
