Something simple for dad this Father’s Day

Sasko Bread has given News readers a delectable Classic Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich recipe that will provide dad with the much needed nutrients before setting a foot out of bed. And as a special treat to dad you can enjoy his company while taking your own bite on the delicious sandwhiches you prepared as there will be plenty for everyone.

Classic Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato Sandwich

Makes 4

Ingredients

8 slices Sasko Low GI Whole Wheat Brown Dumpy Bread/Sasko Everyday Premium Brown Bread

250g streaky/back bacon

2 large, ripe tomatoes (sliced)

1 head fancy lettuce/butter lettuce

Tangy Mayonnaise to spread

Method

Step 1: Grill or fry bacon until crisp and browned, then set aside to cool.

Step 2: Spread a little mayonnaise onto each slice of bread then top 4 of the slices with a little lettuce.

Step 3: Add slices of tomato, bacon, a little salt and pepper and the remaining slices of bread.

Alternative: For a breakfast treat add a fried egg to each sandwich or for a little something different, add some slices of avocado
