Residents of Kenmare are fed up with the local municipality after frequent water cuts the past month.
Residents of the area have lodged several complaints at the Mogale City Local Municipality about the ongoing water cuts and the quality of the water, without any feedback.
A reader sent an anonymous message to the News on 18 June with disturbing photos of the condition of water.
The email stated that the resident had reported the blackish water to the municipality, who visited her house a month ago to take water samples.
Since the visit neither Mogale City nor Rand Water have done anything to fix the problem and instead blamed the borehole on her property, which is not connected to the house.
The resident describes the water to have an oily touch with a foul smell.
Other complaints state that there have been about five water cuts in the Kenmare area in the past two weeks.
The News also found out of complaints about water cuts in the Monument area.
Furiously the resident asked the News what the black substance could be in the water pouring from her taps.
