Truck got stolen during repairment

The truck was taken for repairment in December last year, but when the owner went to check-up on the process, the truck was nowhere to be found.

A 60-year-old suspect have been arrested yesterday after allegedly stealing a truck more than five months ago.

Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson said the complainant took his truck to the suspect’s residence last year December for repairs but when he returned in February this year for a follow-up he realised the truck is not there.

Sibiya said he then called the suspect who told him that he had taken the truck somewhere else for repairment.

“The complainant called the suspect the following day where he was that he (the suspect) was in Soweto and will be able to meet him that following day.”

When the complainant called the next day, the suspect asked him to meet at a certain spot in Chamdor but when he went there, the suspect was not there.

“The complainant reported the matter to the police. The suspect was eventually arrested and detained at the Kagiso Police Station where a case docket for the theft of a truck was registered.”

The suspect is expected to make a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.
