Tavern troublemakers arrested

Detectives praised for their commitment in this case.

Two tavern troublemakers were arrested after allegedly stabbing and assaulting a man.

On 7 July, two suspects aged 30 and 46 were arrested for an incident that took place in June.

Both suspects were charged and are due to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.

“It is alleged the victim was at a tavern in Rietfontein, enjoying a beer when the two suspects stepped on his feet for no reason and without saying anything to him,” explained Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, Muldersdrift Police spokesperson.

One of the suspects allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times.

The suspects assaulted the victim and left him for dead.

Luckily the victim was able to identify the suspects, which assisted the detectives with the case.

“Muldersdrift detectives Sergeant Nkuna and Constable Sithole did a wonderful job without any delay and arrested the two suspects. The acting station commander applauds the commitment shown by the two detectives,” concluded Ngwenya.
