Suspects linked to stolen school property

Police received information about property that is suspected to be stolen.

Two foreign nationals who are being linked to a burglary at a Hekpoort School is expected to make a brief court appearance soon.

Constable Gloria Maswanganye, a police spokesperson at the Hekpoort Police Station said they received information that somebody bought property suspected to be stolen.

“Police went to search the house and found a fridge that was reported stolen at the Depoort School. The police also searched the property and found packets of dagga.”

Maswanganye said when they asked the 19-year-old what he was doing with it we found that he is selling it for R10 each.”

He was then arrested for being in possession of dagga.

“The police together with the owner of the house went to the nearby informal settlement where he bought the fridge from and on arrival they found duvets and cutlery that is suspected to also being stolen.”

Maswanganye said two suspects aged 23 and 29 years was arrested and are being linked to a business burglary that took place at Depoort School where computers were also taken.

All three the suspects qare being detained at the Krugersdorp Police Station’s holding cells and is expected to make a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.
