Argument leads to murder

An 18-year-old suspect is due to appear in court on murder charges following an argument which left one person dead.

An argument on Commissioner Street in Krugersdorp’s CBD left one person dead after the victim was stabbed in the chest.

Police received a call-out about the stabbing on 18 July at 4am in Commissioner Street after an argument broke out.

It is alleged the 20-year-old victim and 18-year-old suspect got into an argument when things took a turn for the worse in the street.

The suspect then took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest before making a run for it.

Paramedics were called to the scene where the victim was was certified dead.

On 20 July, two Krugersdorp detectives, Sergeant Mokhitli and Constable Mothupi received information of the whereabouts of the suspect and followed up.

“The two dedicated members acted quickly and arrested the suspect who was detained at the Krugersdorp police station for murder charges. The suspect will be making an appearance in Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon,” Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp police, said.
