Top scores for school’s equestrian team

Monument Primary's Equestrian Team did not go through to regional's, but instead left the competition with so much more.

Monument Primary won the trophy for the highest points scored in the 5-11 riders per team category at the Gauteng West qualifier of the South African National Equestrian Schools Association (Sanesa).

“We are all super excited and ever so proud of their achievement,” says Nadine Smith.

The Monument Primary School Equestrian team is made up of Jorden Kelly Smith, Alara Eich, Kathleen Rose Caroto, Chadè Smith, Taryn and Calan Campbell and Alexandra Swart who all contributed to the school’s points.

“We couldn’t have done it without each individual,” says the proud mother.

Unfortunately none of the children made it into regional’s this year, but one thing’s for sure, the MPS Equestrian Team is going to come back stronger in 2016.

Kathleen Rose Caroto also won the Level 0 show jumping overall as an individual.

“From all riders and parents, we would like to thank Mark Moore and the school for supporting the team with school branded numna’s and personalised shirts for each child, they wore them proudly. Again, we are proud of each child and want to congratulate each one for their hard work. It’s been a great team effort from both children and parents alike,” Nadine, on behalf of the team, said.
