Five arrested for stealing gold soil

Suspects arrested for possession of gold soil last week.

Five suspects were arrested after they were found in possession of stolen gold soil.

Krugersdorp police were conducting their normal patrolling duties on 23 July when they noticed a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of the road.

On arrival at the vehicle police found the suspects busy loading gold soil into the vehicle.

Some of the suspects got cold feet when they saw the police approaching and fled by foot.

The police later received information that the gold soil was stolen from a nearby mine in Krugersdorp.

Five suspects between the ages of 18 and 29 were taken into police custody and arrested at the Krugersdorp police station.

They will face charges of possession and is expected to make a brief appearances in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court in due time.
