Maragon wins regionals

Maragon beats local rivals KHS and proceed to the Noordvaal tournament.

The Under 14 hockey boys of Maragon Private Schools Avianto proved that hard work and dedication pay off when they made it through to the Noordvaal tournament.

In a D2/ D12 play-off on Friday 24 July, the boys came out victorious, winning the regional league.

“Congratulations to the Under 14 boys hockey team,” Belinda Espag, marketing manager for Maragon said.

They managed to beat local rival Krugersdorp High School 1-0 in a nail-biting game on their astro field in Kenmare.

They now will proceed to the Noordvaal tournament that will kick off on 30 July.

They will compete against the league winners from other regions around the province.

“Good luck team. Maragon is very proud of these boys and we realise that these results are achieved through hard work and dedication.”
