‘Sorry the phone wasn’t charged’
A burglar uses the toilet before fleeing the house with a woman's tablet and jewelery.
A mother of three arrived home after work one afternoon and found a burglar wondering around in her house.
Bianca le Roux arrives home daily just before 5pm and lets her three children play in the front yard while she off loads the car, but for some reason she didn’t do that on 30 July.
Le Roux arrived home the same time as usual when she noticed that one of the windows were smashed.
She also noticed that the wooden bars in the windows were leaning towards the inside, indicating to her that who ever broke the window must still be inside.
Immediately she phoned her husband who alerted Le Roux’s father about the situation.
Without warning the suspect emerged from out of nowhere and exited the house.
At this point Le Roux’s father phoned her and she simply screamed for help as the suspect ran towards her.
Luckily for Le Roux the suspect jumped over the wall and made a run for it.
“I was so scared, because I did not know if there were more suspects hiding in the house,” a frightened Le Roux explained.
Le Roux then phoned the Krugersdorp police station for help who gave her two numbers for the sector police on duty.
Both the sector numbers were off, and the police only showed up at her house two hours later.
The officers explained to Le Roux, “Oh sorry the phone wasn’t charged”.
The burglar managed to take a tablet and all of Le Roux’s jewelery.
“He even had the audacity to use my toilet.”
Shoes and clothes were scattered all over the house which indicates to Le Roux that the thief was after their brand name shoes and clothes but was disturbed by her arrival.
“The shoes and clothes were neatly packed in a pile to be taken. What scares me more is the fact that he had enough time to go through our whole house to see what we have and that he might return, with friends, for more,” Le Roux concluded.
The News contacted the Krugersdorp police, regarding the uncharged cell phones, who will respond to the incident shortly.
