Fun-filled rugby at Grand Leases

It was a delight to see the passion and joy on their faces as they ran, tackled and scored.

The Rand Leases Sport Grounds stands were packed as the crowd was treated to a fun-filled day of rugby this past weekend.

The Poorte juniors took on their counterparts from the Harlequins. They were first on the field as they melted the hearts of those who watched. It was a delight to see the passion and joy on their faces as they ran, tackled and scored.

Then it was the seniors’ turn as Roodepoort Rugby Club hosted the Wanderers Rugby Club.

The U/19 team was beaten 14-0 while the U/21 suffered a 22-5 defeat.

The third team followed and they fared no better as they lost 55-3 to Wanderers.

The second team restored the jubilant spirit of the Poorte supporters and won 19-17.

The first team match was an even closer affair. Poorte’s first team lost by a single point in the 21-20 nail biter.
