Keegan runs out for Lions 7’s team

A Grade 12 7's rugby player had the opportunity to run on to the field as part of the Lions 7's team right before an international test match.

Maragon Avianto’s very own rugby star was overjoyed after playing for the Lions 7’s team last month.

Keegan Armstrong, a Grade 12 pupil, had the opportunity to run out on the Emirates Airline Park (Ellis Park) playing for the Lions 7’s team against the Monaco touring side as a curtain-raiser to the Springboks against the All Blacks test.

It is not everyday that a high school pupil get’s the opportunity to share the field with international stars, or rather play on the same field.

“Being selected to play for the Lions was very unexpected, and an experience that I will forever cherish. Running through the tunnel and onto the field at was a very special moment for me, one that many will never get to experience – and one that I will certainly never forget. Rugby is my passion in life and I hope to grow from strength to strength in realising my dream,” Keegan said.
