Suspects at large with luxury cars
A shoot-out between police and car thieves left one suspect wounded, but the other two are still at large.
Three vehicles were stolen at a car dealership on Market Street earlier this week.
Three suspects allegedly entered the dealership premises at approximately 9.45am on 15 August, pretending to be potential clients.
The suspects pointed firearms at two employees before fleeing the scene with three luxury vehicles – a white, a gold and a silver Mercedes-Benz.
A few minutes later the suspects were spotted in Kagiso.
The West Rand Flying Squad gave chase and a shoot-out ensued between the suspects and the police.
One suspect was shot and wounded and one vehicle was damaged. A stolen firearm was recovered.
The other two suspects are still at large.
The missing vehicle registration numbers are YDY 189 GP (silver) and SMZ 002 GP (gold).
“We appeal to the community to help the police with any information that can assist in tracing the stolen vehicles and arresting the suspects,” Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police Station said.
