Estate thief gets 20 years
After breaking into two estates, Zaed Cheno was arrested, charged and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.
After breaking into two estate homes, Mozambican national Zaed Cheno was sentenced to a total of 20 years imprisonment.
The 35-year-old was involved in break-ins at the Featherbrooke and Ruimsig Estates.
Detective Sergeant Manana investigated the case that was brought before Magistrate Page at the Krugersdorp Magistartes’ Court where Cheno was sentenced on 25 August.
Cheno’s sentence is made up of 10 years imprisonment for each estate home he broke into.
The prosecutor, Mrs Sihlangu, argued the state’s case in which Cheno lost.
“A good message is sent to the public to refrain from committing crime around the Muldersdrift area,” Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, police spokesperson, said.
Earlier this month, Sibusiso Mfazwe was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for murder in Tarlton.
