After stabbing a man who tried to break up a fight between her and her partner, the 23-year-old suspect was released on R1 000 bail.
The woman was arrested for murder at Bagal Village in Tarlton.
“The suspect had a quarrel with her boyfriend, which eventually led to a physical fight. A man who saw the fight tried to intervene,” Constable Lucky Matome, police spokesperson said.
The woman allegedly produced a sharp object with which she stabbed the peacemaker in his upper body. After being rushed to the nearest hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.
The suspect was arrested and made an appearance at the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on 1 September where the News found that she also was on trail for an assault case.
She was charged guilty and given a suspended sentence and either a R4 000 fine or nine months in jail.
On the same day, her murder case was postponed while she was in police custody.
Her family agreed to pay the R1 000 for bail.
She will appear in court again on 21 September.
