Good Samaritan robbed in Sivewright

Sivewright criminals strike again and robs a good Samaritan at knifepoint.

Two suspects were arrested last weekend for robbing a man at knifepoint in the slums of town.

The suspects aged 23 and 29 were taken into custody on 12 September in Krugersdorp’s CBD at around 6.55pm.

A man allegedly was driving along Luipaard Street when he heard a woman screaming for help. When he approached her to ask if she was all right, she was surrounded by four males.

The good Samaritan was threatened with a knife and instructed to drive to Sivewright Street where he was taken to a room and robbed of his cellphone, GPS and watch.

“The complainant alleged when the suspects finally released him, he immediately went to his vehicle and quickly drove off. He noticed a police patrol vehicle and informed the officers of the incident. The police officers responded to the address where they found the stolen property. The complainant pointed out the two suspects and they were arrested for armed robbery,” Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, Krugersdorp Police spokesperson said.

Both suspects will be charged and have made a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.
