Jannas aces Accounting Olympiad
Two of Jan de Klerk's matriculants made a lasting impression at the National Accounting Olympiad recently.
Do you know who one day will review your business’ finances? Probably Masego and Mbulelo.
That’s because Jan de Klerk High School’s two matriculants, Masego Mohale and Mbulelo Dayzina, came second in their irrespective categories at the National Accounting Olympiad recently.
The olympiad, which took place in August, is an annual event for pupils with above-average Accounting skills.
“The test is made up of Grade 10, 11 and 12 syllabus work as well as questions that are not related to the syllabus. That’s why it can be a bit difficult,” Adéle Steenekamp, Jan de Klerk’s matric Accounting teacher said.
Masego told the News that she is planning on studying to become a chartered accountant next year. Mbulelo rather wants to specialise in commercial law.
“Mrs Adéle really pushed us to be the best we can be,” Mbulelo said.
Both pupils believe that the olympiad was an opportunity to understand the subject fully and feel completely prepared for the final exam.
