Police promise regular school searches

A recent school search conducted by the police, left them with nothing bad to say.

On 17 September two high schools in the Magaliesburg area were searched by members of the Krugersdorp Cluster Police.

The searches, led by Captain Modibedi, showed a decreased use of dangerous weapons or drugs in high schools.

“Police visibility will be increased in schools and unannounced searches will be conducted at all schools in our area,” Constable Rebecca Phithi, police spokesperson said.

Phiti explained that pupils must know they are still children and they still should abide by the law. If pupils do not comply with school rules they have to face the consequences.

“Parents also should ensure their children do not carry any dangerous weapons on their person when going to school.”

Phiti added that parents should check that their child’s homework is done as even that would help protect and monitor their child.
