CPF supported by casino

In support of the CPF and their mission, Silverstar recently donated items amounting to over R140 000 to the worthy cause.

Krugersdorp’s Sector 7 Community Policing Forum (CPF) has been doing remarkable work in terms of taking the safety of their community into their own hands.

The CPF is a community-based non-profit organisation, led by a committee of volunteers who live in the area they patrol. Their team consists of more than 30 people, of which 20 are active members.

“Their outstanding efforts are noticed by the community and Silverstar, and we all are benefitting. As a business in this community we wanted to ensure they are able to continue their great work, having the right equipment that would ensure their safety when they are out there looking after our safety,” said Shane Collinson, director of operations and complex general manager at Silverstar.

In support of the CPF and their mission, Silverstar recently donated items amounting to over R140 000 to the worthy cause.

Equipment included a back-up repeater, radios, patrol boards, vehicle signage, traffic cones as well as winter jackets, reflector vests and caps for patrollers.

Casper van Zyl, chairperson of Sector 7 CPF said, “Through Silverstar’s generous donation we are able to enhance our effectiveness in combating crime in our neighbourhood and community.

“A main focus of ours is to make sure that community members are aware of our patrolling unit and are able to identify us, so that we can be trusted to assist them in times of need. This donation has helped us reach this objective and for that we are extremely grateful,” Casper said.
